What is Pediatric Rehabilitation?

Pediatrics is a branch of medicine that deals with kids from 0-18 (from birth to 18 years of age) & pediatric rehabilitation is a process of rehabilitating a child with pediatric conditions like Cerebral palsy, developmental delays, learning disability , sensory processing and sensory modulation disorders, autism, ADHD, other disorders like down' syndrome, cortical visual and hearing impairments, seizures, intellectual disabilities, orthopedic conditions like club foot, etc.
Pediatric Rehabilitation is a process of treating a child with possible interventions which helps the child in providing opportunity to develop better neuro plasticity (better wiring of neuronal maps) .
It includes:
- Early detection of a child' issues by qualified medical practitioner
- Early Intervention
- Holistic Approach ( Treating a child requires a Multi-Disciplinary team)
- Proper counselling of families involved and partnership with the family
- Working on achieving functional goals, Goals varies with the age so they have to be age appropriate
